The APS Board of Education and Leadership Team are conducting a listening tour from October 2009 to May 2010 to gain feedback from stakeholders on the VISTA 2015 strategic plan draft. Key stakeholders include students, parents, staff, elected officials, business leaders, service providers/organizations and community members.  Stakeholder feedback will be integrated into the updated strategic plan, VISTA 2015, to ensure that it reflects the goals and values of the APS community. The listening tour is made up of two phases:

  • PHASE I – October 20, 2009 – March 8, 2010 – Collect feedback on the initial draft of VISTA 2015.
    • Promotion of the Listening Tour and development of the new plan began in September 2009 and will continue until VISTA 2015 is launched in August 2010.
    • Collecting Feedback
      • The APS Accountability and Research Team will be processing and analyzing the feedback through March 31, 2010. A summary of feedback will be released with the revised draft of VISTA 2015 in April 2010.
      • On Oct. 20, the BOE and LT launched the listening tour.
        • The focus is on parent feedback.
      • From October 20, 2009 to November 20, 2009, stakeholders may submit feedback through an online survey.
      • From October 2009 to January 2010, the BOE and Leadership Team is gathering feedback from the following groups:
        • Students – Superintendent’s student advisory committee
        • Additional Parents
        • Internal Partners (AEA, CEC, SEA)
        • State Elected Officials (prior to the start of the Jan. session)
      • On December 9, 2009, there will be an all-staff listening session.
      • From January 2010 – March 8, the BOE and LT will gather feedback from the following groups:
        • Business/Community Groups
        • Superintendents
        • Additional Elected officials
        • Faith-based groups
        • Grants
        • Homeowner Associations
        • Local college and university leaders
        • Political groups & Active Adults
        • Service Organizations
        • Social service agencies
  • PHASE II – May 2010 – Collect feedback on the revised draft of VISTA 2015.
    • Continued promotion of the Listening Tour and development of the new plan.
    • Collecting Feedback
      • The APS Accountability and Research Team will process and analyze the feedback from May 21- June 4, 2010.
        • Verbal feedback will be collected at three open public meetings.  All participants in Phase I of the Listening Tour will be invited to these sessions.
          • Tuesday, April 20
          • Monday, April 26
          • Thursday, May 6
        • During this phase, feedback will also be collected from all stakeholders via an online survey.
